How Amazing would it be if tampons promoteD menstrual health and save the oceans?
With the first tampon made from seaweed, Vyld is finding out.
Vyld uses algae's superpowers to combine radical sustainability, nature connection, and empowerment!
Vyld was founded in 2021 in Berlin as a steward-ownership
profit-for-purpose company by Ines Schiller.
Vyld CEO Ines Schiller is a certified marine guide, serial social entrepreneur (FOGMA, MeinGrundeinkommen, CellAg Germany), screenwriter/film producer (LOVE STEAKS, TIGER GIRL), philosopher and neuroscientist, with a passion for feminism and biotechnology. As an ocean lover, saving the ocean is close to her heart; as a menstruator, she finally wants a product that is sustainable and that she can truly rely on. She founded Vyld because she deeply believes in seaweeds potential to inspire a rethinking of our production systems in a regenerative way.
Melanie Schichan (Head of Tampon) and Stefanie Malchow (Lead R&D Scientist), trained in Gender Studies, business administration and biotechnology, joined her on her mission to re-VYLD the world.
Vyld Vall of Vame
In September 2022, Vyld successfully completed a crowdfunding campaign.
With the help of our community we raised the funds for entering the beta phase of our Kelpon development - the first Kelpons to be tested by menstruators.
A huge thank you to all the supporters!
